Sometimes we often get caught by the hassles of life too much that we forget the little things in life that ironically are the most important ones. We worry too much about losing weight, pleasing others or passing requirements before the deadlines but are those really the things that we should give our utmost attention to? Some may say yes but ultimately the answer would be no. The most important things in life are as follows: helping others, loving yourself, others and God, changing the bad things of the world into good things and preserving what God has given us like the air and water.
Water is one of the most important gifts of nature to us. It is essential for us to live thus we must preserve it for the maintenance of not only mankind but also for plants and animals that like us depend on water for growth and survival . I can imagine a world without movies, cars and facebook but I can’t imagine a world without water. The absence of water can only spell doom for us and the thought of what would happen to us is certainly not appealing. Today, water around the world is becoming polluted rapidly because of the factories, industries and facilities that dump their garbage into them. The seas, rivers and streams are all becoming defiled due to the actions man has done. The progression of mankind surely has brought great things like the invention of electricity, the invention of cars and the invention of phones but it also has a very grueling downside and that is the destruction of our environment.
If we don’t act now the world in the near future would be in total chaos and ruin; people would hurt and kill each other for the possession of water, people would die every day due to the deprivation of water and there could be a possibility of the extinction of mankind. When I think of that my heart aches and my mind becomes restless. We may enjoy the joy of having enormous amounts of clean, drinkable and pure water today but 40 or 50 years from now can that also be the situation? Will the future generations of mankind, flora and fauna also experience what we experience? We are not sure of that because the situation today alone greatly contributes to that doubt. We as the current inhabitants of this world must make sure that our descendants or may I say our successors enjoy the gifts of life as we have enjoyed it. We must make sure that our descendants relish the abundance of water as we did. We must make sure that they also have the chance to drink at least 8 glasses of clean water each day, clean their bodies with water and not towelettes, and the chance to live up to 80 years or more. The fate of the world rests in our hands; it can bring the destruction of the world but it can also bring about its salvation. We must act responsibly , we must save our dying planet.
